entry requirements

what do we look for in an applicant?

We are looking for a wide range of qualities which would indicate that you’d make you a good teacher. Here are some of them:

Passion (& energy)
Demonstrate your love of learning (and your subject if Secondary) and your desire to pass on your passion for learning to the students

Confidence (& personality)
Can you speak confidently and in an engaging way to students?

Professionalism
Your appearance, your mindset and the way you conduct yourself.

Resilience (& commitment)
Teaching is enjoyable but also challenging. You'll need to demonstrate you're up to the task and have the resilience to push through on the days when you want to stop!

A desire to learn
Many trainees initially find that they don’t have the breadth of subject knowledge, vocabulary or grammar skills expected of a teacher. This need not be a barrier, but you must have an inherent desire to expand your knowledge and skills.

What 'teaching skills' are we looking for?
